‘Passionate Journey’ – I watched a lot of Film Noir from the 40’s & 50’s to inspire these drawings. I also included a poem with each drawing to form a kind of diptych which proved to be a very rewarding dynamic. The series title is taken from the wonderful Frans Masereel book of the same name. As for which came first the picture or the poem… The poem came first. Although I usually had a picture in mind, of sorts…
